Palau - 7 November 2024
The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application from Qantas requesting an allocation of 174 seats of passenger capacity per week on the Palau route. It is proposed the flights will be operate using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft configured with 174 seats.
Qantas has requested the capacity on the following basis:
- For a period of five years from the date of the determination;
- The capacity will be fully utilised by 31 January 2025.

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application from Qantas seeking the allocation of allocation of 1,624 seats per week and seven frequencies per week for the exercise of beyond traffic rights beyond Denpasar on the Indonesia route.
It is proposed that from 1 March 2025, Qantas' wholly-owned subsidiary Jetstar Airways Pty Limited will operate services beyond Denpasar, Indonesia to Singapore, as an extension to its existing Melbourne-Denpasar services, using Airbus 321NEO aircraft configured with 232 seats.

The Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development has announced that the additional capacity of two daily services to operate to Haneda Airport are now available for allocation on the Japan route. The new arrangements will take effect from 29 March 2020. In order for Australian airlines to be awarded slots to operate to Haneda Airport for the 2020 Northern Summer IATA scheduling period, the Commission is working towards allocating these capacity entitlements by 31 October 2019.

Italy - 13 April 2017
The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application [PDF: 217 KB] from Virgin Australia to renew Determination [2013] IASC 122, which allocates 300 third country code share seats per week of capacity on the Italy route. The determination permits the use of the capacity for the provision of code share services between Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines and Etihad Airways.

On 7 April 2017, Virgin Australia requested a variation of Determination [2015] IASC 110 to reduce the allocation from 2,800 seats per week to 280 seats per week on the Indonesia route.
On 10 April 2017, the Commission's delegate issued Decision [2017] IASC 205 [PDF: 377 KB] , varying Determination [2015] IASC 110 to reduce the capacity allocated by 2,520 weekly seats, leaving 280 seats per week in each direction allocated on the said Determination on the Indonesia route.

Chile - 24 June 2015
The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application [PDF: 355 KB] from Qantas seeking the following:
- additional capacity of 364 seats per week in each direction on the Chile route;
- consolidation of all the existing capacity entitlements allocated to Qantas under other determinations—namely, [2014] IASC 111 and [2011] IASC 114 as amended.
This will bring the total amount of capacity allocation to 1,847 seats per week.

Italy - 12 March 2013
The Commission has received an application [PDF: 49 KB] from Qantas, seeking a variation to Determination [2007] IASC 113 to reduce capacity from 600 to 300 seats and to enable Qantas to code share with Emirates on the Italy route effective from 31 March 2013. Qantas has also amended its request of 3 September 2012 to renew Determination [2007] IASC 113, by seeking renewal of 300 seats of the 600 seats allocated by this determination.
Submissions about this application are invited. As the application involves a reduction in capacity (which normally does not require consultation) and a variation for code sharing that has been approved for other applications, rather than the normal 10 working days for submissions, the closing date for submissions will be COB Tuesday 19 March 2013.

Review of determinations allocating capacity to Heavy Lift Cargo Airlines of Australia (HeavyLift) - 18 January 2013
HeavyLift currently has the following determinations:
Papua New Guinea route
• [2009] IASC 117, which allocates 16.5 tonnes of freight capacity; and
• [2011] IASC 111, which allocates 22.5 tonnes of freight capacity.
Solomon Islands route
• [2008] IASC 130, which allocates 25 tonnes of freight capacity.
New Zealand route
• [2005] IASC 101, which allocates unlimited freight capacity.
On 8 August 2012 the Commission was informed by the Department of Infrastructure and Transport that HeavyLift’s International Airline Licence had been cancelled.
Under section 10 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992 (the Act), the Commission may, at any time, conduct a review of a determination if it believes there may be grounds for varying, suspending or revoking the determination.

France Route 3 (New Caledonia) - 07 March 2011
On the 3 March 2011 the Commission received a request from Pacific Wings to revoke Determination [2009] IASC 112, which allocates 0.25 units of capacity on the France Route 3 (New Caledonia) route and Determination [2009] IASC 116 which allocates 0.50 units of capacity on the France Route 3 (New Caledonia) route. Singapore - 12 January 2011

Qantas has also sought an allocation of 14 frequencies per week to enable Qantas to code share on Finnair’s Bangkok-Helsinki and Singapore-Helsinki services. The Commission has received an application from Strategic Airlines to transfer to it capacity on the Indonesia route currently held by Ozjet Airlines. Ozjet is owned by Strategic Global and Strategic Airlines is also a wholly-owned subsidiary of Strategic Global. Strategic plans to commence a once weekly A330 service between Brisbane and Denpasar from 6 December 2009. It plans to introduce a second weekly service from 30 June 2010, subject to securing a small amount of additional capacity via the ‘spill-over” provisions of the Australia – Indonesia air services arrangements.
