The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application 

from Virgin Australia requesting the renewal of Determination [2017] IASC 115 which allocates 1,260 seats per week on the Fiji route and Determination [2017] IASC 116 which allocates 360 seats per week on the Fiji route.

Invitation for other applications

In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.

The closing date for making an application is 6 September 2022. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make an application as soon as possible.

Update: 16-September-2022

On 16 September 2022 the Commission issued two Renewal Determinations. 

  • [2022] IASC 118 allocating to Virgin Australia 1,260 seats per week to operate passenger services on the Fiji route . The determination is valid for five years from 10 July 2023.
  • [2022] IASC 119 allocating to Virgin Australia 360 seats per week to operate passenger services on the Fiji route. The determination is valid for five years from 1 August 2023.
