The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application [PDF: 87 KB] from Qantas seeking an allocation of 400 seats per week on the Korea route. Qantas has also sought for the capacity to be able to be used: (1) to provide joint services with Cathay Pacific Airways Limited (Cathay Pacific), and (2) to provide joint services with Hong Kong Dragon Airlines Limited (Cathay Dragon).

Invitation for other applications

In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.

The closing date for making an application is 22 January 2019. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make an application as soon as possible.

Update: 06-February-2019

On 5 February 2019, the Commission issued Determination [2019] IASC 103, allocating to Qantas 400 seats per week in each direction on the Korea route. The capacity may be used by Qantas to provide code share services with Cathay Pacific Airways and Hong Kong Dragon Airlines. The determination is valid for five years from 5 February 2019.
