The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application from Qantas requesting an allocation of 174 seats of passenger capacity per week on the Palau route. It is proposed the flights will be operate using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft configured with 174 seats.
Qantas has requested the capacity on the following basis:
- For a period of five years from the date of the determination;
- The capacity will be fully utilised by 31 January 2025.
Invitation for other applications
In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.
The closing date for making an application is 21 November 2024. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Director of the Commission, by email (at Contact@iasc.gov.au), as soon as possible.
Update: 29-November-2024
On 28 November 2024, the Commission issued Determination [2024] IASC 127, allocating to Qantas 174 seats of capacity per week to operate passenger services in each direction on the Palau route, subject to certain conditions. The determination is valid for five years from 28 November 2024.
