The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application
from Qantas requesting the renewal of Determination [2012] IASC 102 (as varied) which allocates unlimited passenger capacity on the Japan route.
Invitation for submissions
In accordance with sections 12 and 17 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.
The closing date for making a submission is 5 March 2021. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make an application as soon as possible.
Update: 24-March-2021
On 23 March 2021, the Commission issued Renewal Determination
allocating unlimited capacity to Qantas to operate services between points in Australia and points in Japan (other than Tokyo-Haneda), in accordance with the Australia-Japan air services arrangements. The determination also permits certain code share arrangements, subject to conditions.
