The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application [PDF: 188 KB]   from Qantas Airways Limited seeking to renew seven frequencies of capacity per week in each direction on the South Africa route allocated under Determination [2012] IASC 106, as varied by Decision [2012] IASC 223. Qantas also seeks to include, in the renewal determination, a condition permitting the capacity to be utilised by another Australian carrier which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qantas, such as Jetstar.

In accordance with sections 12 and 17 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.

The closing date for making an application is 31 January 2017. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make an application as soon as possible.

Update: 13-February-2017

On 10 February 2017, the Commission issued Renewal Determination [2017] IASC 102  [PDF: 1244 KB]   , allocating to Qantas 7 frequencies per week in each direction on the South Africa route. The determination is valid for five years from 17 December 2017.
