The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application from Qantas requesting the renewal of the following Determinations:
- Determination [2019] IASC 114, which allocates to Qantas one all-cargo frequency per week on the Hong Kong route. Qantas seeks renewal of the Determination for a period of five years and requests all existing conditions be retained.
- Determination [2019] IASC 115, which allocates Qantas 1,847 seats of passenger capacity per week on the Chile route. Qantas seeks renewal of the Determination for a period of five years and requests that all existing conditions be retained, including the ability for Qantas to provide code share services LATAM.
Invitation for other applications
In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for the capacity on the Chile and Hong Kong routes.
The closing date for making an application is 27 September 2024. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Director of the Commission, by email (at contact@iasc.gov.au ), of your intention to make an application as soon as possible.
Update: 25-October-2024
On 23 October 2024, the Commission issued Determination [2024] IASC 125 allocating to Qantas Airways Limited (Qantas) 1,847 seats of capacity per week in each direction on the Chile route. The capacity may be utilised by Qantas or Jetstar Airways Pty Limited, and for Qantas to offer joint services with LATAM Airlines, subject to certain conditions. The determination is valid for five years from 15 July 2025.
On 24 October 2024, the Commission issued Determination [2024] IASC 126 allocating to Qantas Airways Limited (Qantas) one all-cargo frequency per week on the Hong Kong route. The determination is valid for five years from 14 July 2025.
