The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application [PDF: 773 KB]   from Virgin Australia seeking to renew the following Determinations:

New Zealand

Determination [2007] IASC 118 as varied, which allocates unlimited passenger and freight capacity

The request for the capacity to be utilised by a wholly-owned subsidiary has been withdrawn.

United States

Determination [2008] IASC 110 as varied, which allocates unlimited passenger and freight capacity

The Commission received further information from the applicant nominating Tiger International Number1 Pty Ltd as the wholly-owned subsidiary of Virgin Australia International Airlines (VAIA).

Fiji

Determination [2013] IASC 106, which allocates 1,260 seats of capacity per week in each direction

Determination [2013] IASC 107, which allocates 360 seats of capacity per week in each direction

The request for the capacity to be utilised by a wholly-owned subsidiary has been withdrawn.

Vanuatu

Determination [2013] IASC 108 as varied, which allocates 720 seats of capacity per week in each direction

Determination [2013] IASC 109 as varied, which allocates 180 seats of capacity per week in each direction

The request for the capacity to be utilised by a wholly-owned subsidiary has been withdrawn.

In accordance with sections 12 and 17 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.

The closing date for making an application is 25 July 2017. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make an application as soon as possible.

Update: 10-August-2017

On 10 August the Commission issued the following Renewal Determinations:

New Zealand - Determination [2017] IASC 113 [PDF: 380 KB]   , allocating to Virgin Australia unlimited passenger and freight capacity in each direction on the New Zealand route. The determination also permits the use of capacity by Virgin Australia for the provision of code share services with Etihad Airways, Delta Airways , Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines, Alitalia, Air Berlin, Air Canada and Hong Kong Airlines. The determination is valid for ten years from 10 July 2018.

United States of America - Determination [2017] IASC 114 [PDF: 330 KB]   , allocating to Virgin Australia unlimited passenger and freight capacity in each direction on the USA route with permission to use the capacity for code share services with Delta Air Lines. The determination is valid for ten years from 1 August 2018.

Fiji - Determination [2017] IASC 115 [PDF: 170 KB]   , allocating to Virgin Australia 1,260 seats per week in each direction on the Fiji route. The determination is valid for five years from 10 July 2018.

Fiji - Determination [2017] IASC 116 [PDF: 170 KB]   , allocating to Virgin Australia 180 seats per week in each direction on the Fiji route. The determination is valid for five years from 1 August 2018.

Vanuatu - Determination [2017] IASC 117 [PDF: 266 KB]   , allocating to Virgin Australia 720 seats of capacity per week in each direction on the Vanuatu route, and permitting the use of the capacity for code share with Singapore Airlines. The determination is valid for five years from 10 July 2018.

Vanuatu - Determination [2017] IASC 121 [PDF: 268 KB]   , allocating to Virgin Australia 180 seats of capacity per week in each direction on the Vanuatu route, and permitting the use of the capacity for code share with Singapore Airlines. The determination is valid for five years from 1 August 2018.
