The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application

from Qantas requesting an allocation of 97 seats of passenger capacity per week on the Solomon Islands route.  It is planned that Qantas will operate an additional weekly passenger service between Brisbane and Honiara, using Embraer E190 aircraft configured with 94 seats.

Invitation for other applications

In accordance with Section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.

The closing date for making an application is 15 March 2024. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), as soon as possible.

Update: 17-April-2024

On 15 April 2024, the Commission issued Determination [2024] IASC 109, allocating to Qantas 97 seats of passenger capacity on the route, subject to certain conditions.
