The Commission has received an application [PDF: 455 KB] from Virgin Australia seeking a renewal of Determination [2011] IASC 110 which allocates 2,800 seats of capacity per week in each direction on the Indonesia route and due to expire on 29 August 2016. Virgin Australia further requests to authorise the use of the capacity by its wholly-owned subsidiary.
In accordance with sections 12 and 17 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for the capacity.
The closing date for notice of intention to make an application is COB (i.e. 5pm) on 11 September 2015, with the application due by COB 18 September 2015. If no notice of intention is received by COB 11 September 2015, the Commission may proceed to make a decision.

On 30 September 2015, the Commission's delegate issued Renewal Determination [2015] IASC 110 [PDF: 1317 KB] allocating 2,800 seats of capacity per week in each direction on the Indonesia route in favour of Virgin Australia International Airlines Pty Ltd (VAIA). The determination permits the capacity to be used by either VAIA or another Australian carrier which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of VAIA. The determination is valid for five years from 30 August 2016.
