The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application

from Virgin Australia requesting to renew Determination [2019] IASC 119, which allocates to Virgin Australia one daily frequency on the Japan (Tokyo-Haneda) route, subject to certain conditions.

Invitation for other applications

In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.

The closing date for making an application is 30 January 2024. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), as soon as possible.

Update: 23-February-2024

On 21 February 2024, the Commission issued Renewal Determination [2024] IASC 102, allocating to Virgin Australia International Airlines Pty Limited one daily frequency of passenger capacity per week in each direction on the Japan route, to service Tokyo-Haneda. The capacity may be used by Virgin Australia International Airlines Pty Limited to provide code share services with All Nippon Airways, Air Canada and Qatar Airways, subject to certain conditions. The determination is valid for five years from 28 October 2024.
