The Commission has received multiple applications [PDF: 629 KB] from Virgin Australia requesting to vary each of the following determinations to transfer to Virgin Australia International Airlines Pty Ltd (VIVA) the capacity currently allocated to Virgin Australia Airlines (SE Asia) Pty Ltd (VAASEA), with effect from 1 October 2018. Virgin Australia has also requested that each determination is varied to authorise the use of the capacity by VAIA's wholly-owned subsidiary, Tiger International Number1 Pty Ltd.

Invitation to make other applications
In relation to the application for renewal of the 180 seats of capacity on the Solomon Islands route, in accordance with sections 12 and 17 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.
Invitation to make submissions
In accordance with section 22 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites submissions about the transfer applications.
Deadline for other applications and submission
The closing date for making an application or submission is 24 August 2018. If you are intending to make an application or submission, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au ), of your intention to make an application or submission as soon as possible.

On 21 September 2018, the Commission issued the following decisions varying the determinations listed above to transfer the capacity originally allocated to Virgin Australia Airlines (SE Asia) Pty Ltd (VAASEA) to Virgin Australia International Airlines Pty Ltd (VIVA).

Update: 24-September-2018
On 24 September 2018, the Commission issued renewal determination [2018] IASC 116 allocating to Virgin Australia International Airlines Pty Ltd (VAIA) 180 seats per week of capacity in each direction on the Solomon Islands route. The capacity may be also used by VAIA or its wholly-owned subsidiary, Tiger International Number1 Pty Ltd, and for the provision of code share services with Singapore Airlines. The determination is valid for five years from 9 July 2019.
