The International Air Services Commission has received an application [PDF: 331 KB] from Qantas seeking a renewal of Determination [2010] IASC 113, as amended, which allocates 149 seats per week of capacity on the New Caledonia route.
There are currently 1,612 seats per week of capacity available for immediate allocation to Australian carriers on the New Caledonia route.
In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for the capacity.
The closing date for notice of intention to make an application is COB (i.e. 5pm) on 17 December 2015, with the application due by COB (i.e.5pm) 24 December 2015. If no notice of intention is received by COB 17 December 2015, the Commission may proceed to make a decision.
Update: 04-March-2016
On 4 March 2016, the Commission issued Renewal Determination [2016] IASC 101 [PDF: 1433 KB] allocating, in favour of Qantas, 149 seats of capacity per week in each direction on the New Caledonia route. The new determination is valid for five years from 13 December 2016. It permits the capacity to be used by Qantas or another Australian carrier which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qantas.
