Samoa - 18 September 2024

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application from Virgin Australia seeking to vary Determination [2021] IASC 117, on the Samoa route, to increase the capacity allocated by an additional 30 seats to meet operational requirements.

Invitation for Submissions

In accordance with section 22 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites submissions about the variation application.

Japan - 18 September 2024

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application from Qantas seeking the allocation of one daily frequency in each direction on the Japan route, to service Tokyo-Haneda. 

Invitation for other applications

In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for the capacity.

The closing date for making an application is 25 September 2024. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Director of the Commission, by email (at contact@iasc.gov.au), of your intention as soon as possible.

Notice: Capacity available on the Japan route to service Tokyo (Haneda) Airport

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) wishes to advise that one (1) daily frequency is now available for allocation on the Japan route, to service Tokyo (Haneda) Airport. The capacity is available to be utilised from 25 February 2025. 

Application process

In order for an Australian airline to be awarded the relevant slot to operate to Tokyo (Haneda) Airport in the 2025 Northern Summer IATA scheduling period, the Commission is working towards allocating the one (1) daily frequency by 10 October 2024. 

Philippines – 20 May 2024

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application from Qantas requesting an allocation of 1,188 seats of passenger capacity per week on the Philippines route. It is planned that Qantas will operate 4 services per week from October 2024, using Airbus A330 aircraft configured with 297 seats.

Papua New Guinea – 8 May 2024

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application

from Qantas requesting to renew Determination [2019] IASC 108 which allocates to Qantas 566 seats of passenger capacity on the Papua New Guinea route, subject to certain conditions.
