The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application [PDF: 326 KB] from Virgin Australia seeking to renew Determination [2014] IASC 107 which allocates 360 seats per week of passenger capacity on the Cook Islands route. Virgin Australia is also seeking the inclusion of all existing conditions in the Determination.
Invitation for other applications
In accordance with sections 12 and 17 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for the capacity.
The closing date for making an application is 3 May 2019. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make an application as soon as possible.
Update: 14-May-2019
On 14 May 2019, the Commission issued Renewal Determination [2019] IASC 110, allocating to Virgin Australia International Airlines Pty Ltd (VAIA) 360 seats per week of capacity in each direction on the Cook Islands route. The fresh determination permits the capacity to be used by either VAIA or its wholly-owned subsidiary, Tiger International Number1 Pty Ltd and is valid for five years from 9 April 2020.
