The International Air Services Commission has received an application
from Qantas seeking to renew [2013] IASC 135, which allocates unlimited passenger capacity on the Indonesia route (except Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth), subject to certain conditions.
Invitation for other applications
In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.
The closing date for making an application is 7 September 2023. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), as soon as possible.
Update: 11-September-2023
On 8 September 2023, the Commission issued Renewal Determination [2023] IASC 131, allocating to Qantas Airways Ltd (Qantas) unlimited passenger capacity on the Indonesia route between points in Australia, except Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, subject to certain conditions. The capacity may be used by either Qantas or its wholly-owned subsidiary, Jetstar, and for the latter to provide services jointly with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. The determination is valid for 99 years from 5 August 2024.
