The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application [PDF: 17 KB] from Qantas seeking an allocation of 156 seats per week on the New Caledonia route. Qantas has also sought for the capacity to be able to be used: (1) by Qantas or another Australian carrier which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qantas; (2) for the provision of joint services between Qantas and any wholly-owned subsidiary of the Qantas Group; and (3) for Qantas to be able to provide joint services with Aircalin.
Invitation for other applications
In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.
The closing date for making an application is 10 January 2019. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make an application as soon as possible.
Update: 15-January-2019
On 15 January 2019, the Commission issued Determination [2019] IASC 101, allocating to Qantas 156 seats per week in each direction of passenger capacity on the New Caledonia route. The capacity may be used by either Qantas or its wholly-owned subsidiary, Jetstar Airways Pty Limited and for Qantas to provide services jointly with Aircalin. The determination is valid for five years from 15 January 2019.
