On 1 November 2022, the International Air Services Commission (the Commission) received an application
from Qantas requesting the allocation of 594 seats per week of passenger capacity on the Samoa route. Qantas requested the capacity on the following basis:
- the allocation is requested for a period of five years from the date of the determination; and
- the capacity will be fully utilised by 30 December 2022.
Invitation for other applications
In accordance with Section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.
The closing date for making an application is 14 November 2022. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make an application as soon as possible.
Update: 22-November-2022
On 18 November 2022, the Commission issued Determination [2022] IASC 125 PDF: 209 KB allocating to Qantas 594 seats of capacity per week to operate passenger services on the Samoa route. The determination is valid for 5 years from 18 November 2022.
