The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application PDF: 214 KB from Virgin Australia to vary Determination [2017] IASC 113 on the New Zealand route to permit the use of capacity for the provision of code share services with Qatar Airways; and to remove the conditions permitting the use of the capacity to code share with Delta Air Lines, Air Berlin, Hong Kong Airlines, Air New Zealand, Alitalia (now ITA Airways) and Hainan Airlines.

Invitation for submissions

In accordance with section 22 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites submissions about the transfer application.

The closing date for making a submission is 12 December 2022. If you are intending to make a submission, please inform the Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make a submission as soon as possible.

On 16 December 2022, the Commission issued Decision [2022] IASC 219 PDF: 179 KB, varying Determination [2017] IASC 113 to permit Qatar Airways to code share on Virgin Australia services on the New Zealand route, and removing the conditions that permit the capacity to be used by Virgin Australia to provide code share services with Air New Zealand, Delta Air Lines, Air Berlin, Hong Kong Airlines, Alitalia (now ITA Airways) and Hainan Airlines.
