The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application  [PDF: 39 KB]   from Qantas seeking to renew Determination [2012] IASC 107, which allocates 14 frequencies of capacity per week on the UAE route.

In accordance with sections 17 and 12 of the International Air Services Commission ACT 1992, the Commission invites other applications on the Qantas application.

In its application Virgin also requested that the new determination reflect the name change to Virgin Australia.

Singapore - 22 November 2016

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application  [PDF: 78 KB]   from Qantas seeking to vary Determination [2007] IASC 116 to permit Fiji Airways to code share on Qantas operated services. The variation is requested for the duration of the determination.

In accordance with section 22 of the International Air Services Commission ACT 1992, the Commission invites submissions on the Qantas application.

Thailand - 07 September 2016

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application  [PDF: 80 KB] from Qantas seeking to vary Determination [2011] IASC 123, which allocates 35.6 B747 equivalent units of capacity per week and 26 third country code share frequencies per week on the Thailand route, to permit Jet Airways to code share on Qantas operated services.

Qantas and Jet Airways plan to code share on the Thailand route, whereby Jet Airways will code share on Qantas services between Bangkok and Sydney and Qantas will place its code on Jet Airways' services between Bangkok and Mumbai/New Delhi.

In accordance with section 22 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites submissions on the Qantas application.

New Zealand - 06 September 2016

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application  [PDF: 464 KB]   from Virgin Australia seeking to vary Determination [2007] IASC 118 (as varied by Decisions [2009] IASC 201, [2010] IASC 208, [2011] IASC 201, [2011] IASC 210 and [2012] IASC 219) to permit the utilisation of capacity for code share services with Air Berlin on the New Zealand Route.

In accordance with section 22 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites submissions on the Virgin Australia application.

The closing date for making a submission is 20 September 2016, Tuesday.

Papua New Guinea - 26 August 2016

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application  [PDF: 60 KB]   from Qantas seeking to vary the following determinations on the Papua New Guinea route:

  • [2011] IASC 132, as amended by [2012] IASC 215;
  • [2014] IASC 105; and
  • [2016] IASC 110.

Qantas is seeking to vary the above determinations to enable reciprocal code sharing with Air Niugini, planned from 30 October 2016. Under the new free-sale code share arrangements between Qantas and Air Niugini, Qantas plans to use the capacity to code share on passenger services operated by Air Niugini between Port Moresby and Brisbane/Sydney/Cairns, while Air Niugini plans to code share on Qantas-operated services between Brisbane and Port Moresby.

New Zealand - 24 August 2016

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application  [PDF: 427 KB]   from Virgin Australia seeking to vary Determination [2007] IASC 118 (as varied by Decisions [2009] IASC 201, [2010] IASC 208, [2011] IASC 201, [2011] IASC 210 and [2012] IASC 219) to permit the utilisation of capacity for code share services with Alitalia on the New Zealand Route.

Papua New Guinea - 16 April 2016

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application [PDF: 326 KB]   from Qantas seeking a variation of Determination [2014] IASC 105 on the Papua New Guinea  route, which allocates 888 seats per week in each direction, to increase the allocation by 1,000 seats per week.

This will bring Qantas’ total allocation to 1,888 seats per week, the same number that Qantas currently holds in total on the route. Qantas will then seek to vary the expiry date of Determination [2011] IASC 132 to the date when the variation to [2014] IASC 105 takes effect.

Qantas is also seeking the inclusion of the following conditions:

New Caledonia - 12 April 2016

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application from Qantas [PDF: 305 KB]   seeking a new determination on the New Caledonia route effectively consolidating its multiple determinations on the route. Qantas is applying for a fresh allocation of 788 seats (the same number that it currently holds in total on the route) and will seek to revoke its existing determinations within 10 working days from the date of issue of the new determination.

Philippines - 12 April 2016

The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application [PDF: 310 KB]   from Qantas seeking a new determination on the Philippines route effectively consolidating its multiple determinations on the route. Qantas is applying for a fresh allocation of 1,927 seats (the same number that it currently holds in total on the route) and will seek to revoke its existing determinations within 10 working days from the date of issue of the new determination.

New Caledonia - 10 December 2015

The International Air Services Commission has received an application [PDF: 331 KB]   from Qantas seeking a renewal of Determination [2010] IASC 113, as amended, which allocates 149 seats per week of capacity on the New Caledonia route.

There are currently 1,612 seats per week of capacity available for immediate allocation to Australian carriers on the New Caledonia route.

In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for the capacity.

The closing date for notice of intention to make an application is COB (i.e. 5pm) on 17 December 2015, with the application due by COB (i.e.5pm) 24 December 2015. If no notice of intention is received by COB 17 December 2015, the Commission may proceed to make a decision.
