The International Air Services Commission received an application
from Qantas seeking to renew Determinations [2018] IASC 120 and [2017] IASC 130, which allocate 1,250 seats per week; 14,468 seats per week and 2,148 seats per week for beyond with 12 frequencies per week respectively on the Indonesia route, for a period of five years. Qantas requests that all existing conditions be retained.
Invitation for other applications
In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.
The closing date for making an application is 17 February 2023. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), as soon as possible.
Update: 28-February-2023
On 24 February 2023, the Commission issued Renewal Determination [2023] IASC 107 allocating to Qantas 14,468 seats per week for the exercise of third and fourth freedom rights on the Indonesia route and 2,148 seats for the exercise of beyond traffic rights with 12 frequencies per week, seven of which may be used beyond Indonesia from Denpasar, subject to certain conditions. The Determination is valid for five years from 25 October 2023.
Update: 07-March-2023
On 7 March 2023, Qantas requested that Determination [2018] IASC 120 be renewed omitting the condition permitting the use of the capacity by Jetstar Airways Pty Limited to code share with Emirates.
Update: 09-March-2023
On 8 March 2023, the Commission issued Renewal Determination [2023] IASC 102, allocating to Qantas 1,250 seats of passenger capacity on the Indonesia route, subject to certain conditions. The Determination is valid for five years from 15 October 2023.
