The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application [PDF: 17 KB]   from Qantas seeking to renew Determination [2014] IASC 113 on the Canada route which is due to expire on 24 September 2019.

Invitation for other applications

In accordance with sections 12 and 17 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.

The closing date for making an application is 14 November 2018. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au ), of your intention to make an application as soon as possible.

Update: 11-December-2018

On 10 December 2018, the Commission issued [2018] IASC 121, which allocates to Qantas 1,092 seats of capacity per week in each direction on the Canada route. Qantas and its wholly-owned subsidiary Jetstar are permitted to utilise the capacity. The capacity may be used for code sharing between Qantas and American Airlines, WestJet Airlines and Alaska Airlines. The determination is valid for five years from 25 September 2019.
