The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application [PDF: 326 KB] from Virgin Australia seeking to renew Determination [2015] IASC 102 which allocates 172 seats per week of passenger capacity on the Australia-Papua New Guinea route. Virgin Australia is also seeking the inclusion of all existing conditions in the Determination.
Invitation for other applications
In accordance with sections 12 and 17 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for the capacity.
The closing date for making an application is 7 March 2019. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make an application as soon as possible.
Update: 18-March-2019
On 18 March 2019, the Commission issued Renewal Determination [2019] IASC 105, allocating to Virgin Australia 172 seats of capacity per week on the PNG route. The determination is valid for five years from 25 February 2020.
