The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application [PDF: 416 KB] from Virgin Australia seeking to renew Determination [2013] IASC 137 which allocates 180 seats of capacity in each direction on the Cook Islands route. Virgin Australia has also requested that all existing conditions be retained under the renewal determination.
In accordance with sections 12 and 17 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the route.
The closing date for making an application is 2 October 2018. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make an application as soon as possible.
Update: 15-October-2018
On 12 October 2018, the Commission issued Renewal Determination [2018] IASC 119, allocating to Virgin Australia 180 seats per week of capacity in each direction on the Cook Islands route. The fresh determination permits the capacity to be used by either VAIA or its wholly-owned subsidiary, Tiger International Number1 Pty Ltd and is valid for five years from 20 September 2019.
