The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application  [PDF: 257 KB]   from Virgin Australia seeking to vary Determination [2007] IASC 118 to permit Air Canada to offer code share services on flights operated by Virgin Australia on the New Zealand route.

In accordance with section 22 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites submissions on the Virgin Australia application.

As per normal practice, the Commission allows 10 working days for submissions to be made from the date of publication of the application. However, in light of the Christmas close-down from 25 December 2016 until 2 January 2017, the holidays will not be counted in calculating the 10-working day period. The closing date for making a submission is 6 January 2017.

If you are intending to make a submission, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make a submission as soon as possible.

Update: 20-April-2017

On 19 April 2017, the Commission issued Decision [2017] IASC 207  [PDF: 1154 KB]   varying Determination [2007] IASC 118 to permit the capacity allocated to Virgin Australia to be used for code share services with Air Canada on the New Zealand route.
