The Commission received further information from Qantas concerning its application seeking to vary Determination [2015] IASC 115 (as varied) to permit the use of the capacity for the provision of code share services with Cathay Pacific Airways Limited (Cathay Pacific) on the Hong Kong route. Invitation for submissions
In accordance with section 22 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites submissions about the Qantas application.
The closing date for making a submission is 25 February 2019. If you are intending to make a submission, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make a submission as soon as possible.

On 18 July 2019 the Commission issued Decision [2019] IASC 204. After conducting a review, the Commission made the decision under section 25 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992 not to vary Determination [2015] IASC 115 in the manner requested by Qantas.

On 24 May 2019, the Commission issued Draft Decision [2019] IASC 204d [PDF: 5037 KB] concerning Qantas’ application to vary Determination [2015] IASC 115 to enable Cathay Pacific to market and place its code on selected Qantas flights between Australia and Hong Kong when those flights are sold as a part of a through journey to behind and/or beyond destinations. After conducting a review, the Commission proposes not to vary the Determination in the manner requested by Qantas.
