The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application [PDF: 452 KB] from Virgin Australia seeking to vary Determinations [2007] IASC 118 and [2017] IASC 113 to permit Hainan Airlines to code share on Virgin Australia services on the New Zealand route.
In accordance with section 22 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites submissions about the application.
The closing date for making a submission is 31 January 2018. If you are intending to make a submission, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make a submission as soon as possible.
Update: 02-February-2018
On 2 February 2018, the delegate of the Commission issued Decisions [2018] IASC 208 and [2018] IASC 209 varying Determinations [2007] IASC 118 and [2017] IASC 113. Both Determinations allocate unlimited passenger and freight capacity to Virgin Australia Airlines (SE Asia) Pty Ltd . The decisions vary the determinations to include conditions permitting the capacity to be used for code share services between Virgin Australia and Hainan Airlines on the New Zealand route.
