The International Air Services Commission (the Commission) has received an application PDF: 165 KB from Qantas seeking one frequency per week in each direction to operate dedicated freight services on the Vietnam route.
Invitation for other applications
In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for capacity on the Vietnam route.
The closing date for making an application is 3 January 2022. If you are intending to make an application, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to make an application as soon as possible.
Update: 11-January-2022
The Commission has received a letter from Qantas PDF: 183 KB varying its original application to enable its wholly-owned subsidiary Jetstar Airways Pty Limited to use the capacity in addition to Qantas.
In accordance with sections 12 and 22 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992,the Commission invites submissions about the application.
The closing date for making a submission is 25 January 2022. If you are intending to make a submission, please inform the Executive Director of the Commission, by email (at iasc@infrastructure.gov.au), of your intention to lodge a submission as soon as possible.
Update: 14-January-2022
On 13 January 2022, the Commission issued Determination [2022] IASC 102 PDF: 154 KB allocating one weekly frequency in each direction in favour of Qantas to enable the airline to operate dedicated freight services on the Vietnam route. The Determination is valid for three years from 13 January 2022.
Update: 02-February-2022
On 02 February 2022, the Commission issued Decision [2022] IASC 201 PDF: 144 KB varying Determination [2022] IASC 102 to permit Jetstar Airways Pty Limited to utilise the freight capacity on the Vietnam route.
