The International Air Services Commission received an application [PDF: 54 KB]   from Qantas seeking an allocation of unlimited capacity on the China route between points in Australia other than Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, and points in China other than Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. The allocation is requested for a period of ten years from the date of determination.

In accordance with section 12 of the International Air Services Commission Act 1992, the Commission invites other applications for the capacity.

The closing date for notice of intention to make an application is COB (i.e. 5pm) Tuesday 25 August 2015, with the application due by COB 1 September 2015. If no notice of intention is received by COB Tuesday 25 August 2015, the Commission may proceed to make a decision.

Update: 04-September-2015

On 4 September 2015, the Commission issued Determination [2015] IASC 109 [PDF: 938 KB]   allocating unlimited passenger capacity between points in Australia other than Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth and points in China in accordance with the terms of the Australia-China air services arrangements.
